“Restoration work has a challenge and a discipline that I enjoy.
I regard Buscot Park as a lasting legacy of my sensitive approach to the decorating work I undertake.”

Restoration by Alidad

A sympathetic eye combined with couture detailing worked wonders in an English stately home filled with fine paintings.

This historic property is an example of the restoration work Alidad also undertakes. When working on a project like this, there are always restrictions about what can and can not be changed. The salon of Buscot Park in Oxfordshire is the setting for the most important group of Burne-Jones’ paintings in the country, The Briar Rose series. The furniture and chandelier had to be reinstated exactly as they were, but the room needed reviving having been virtually untouched since before the Second World War.
